Yeading have rid themselves of their home hoodoo (nearly six months without a competitive win) notching their second win in a week at The Warren.
From the opening whistle Yeading always looked in control with some good pass and move football that lacked the final killer finish. It may have been different had Michael Lyon had more luck when he closed down Delroy Preddie’s clearance and the ball ballooned over the bar.
At the other end Jeff Goulding's header was cupped round the post one-handed on fourteen minutes by Ian Brown and the visiting ‘keeper was always a match for the remaining long-range efforts struck by the Ding.
Just ahead of half-time Delroy Preddie looked to have safely made the ball ahead of John Lawford’s feet but with Lawford ending up on the floor at the end referee Miller hesitated and then awarded a spot kick that Lee Howarth thumped home with confidence.
The goal very much against the run of play was nearly cancelled out within seconds but Nathan Bowden-Haase clipped Marlon Patterson’s cross inches past the post.
After a quite start to the second half Yeading upped the temp with Morgan heading just past the post, Davis Haule denied one on one with Brown and Goulding forcing the ‘keeper into a comfortable save from range. On seventy minutes got a well earned equaliser. Jeff Goulding powered into the box down the left hand side and his cross to the near post was perfect for Marvin Morgan to touch home inside the upright.
Just three minutes later Morgan turned provider from the right and his dipping ball under the far post was met by Haule to poke past Brown.
A brief spell of frantic defending had some Yeading hearts fluttering on the stroke of full time but with Preddie rarely troubled the result was a fair reflection.
